The Ngāti Tūwharetoa Fisheries Charitable Trust is the Mandated Iwi Organisation of Ngāti Tūwharetoa for the purpose of the Maori Fisheries Act 2004 and to act as the Iwi Aquaculture Organisation for the purpose of the Maori Commercial Aquaculture Claims Settlement Act 2004.
The Ngāti Tūwharetoa Fisheries Charitable Trust receives, holds, manages and administers the fisheries settlement assets received from Te Ohu Kai Moana, for the benefit of present and future members of Ngāti Tūwharetoa, wherever they may reside.
