Ngā Hua

The Trust has developed its strategic plan through to 2016. This work is focused primarily on some key objectives that the Trust believes are essential to its on-going support of Ngāti Tūwharetoa as a whole.

The objectives for the provision of iwi benefits are focused on the following key areas:

  • Nga Rangatira mo Apopo
  • Nga Kuia me nga Kaumatua
  • Nga Kanohi Marae o Ngāti Tūwharetoa
  • Te Whare Ariki o Tūwharetoa

Nga Rangatira mo Apopo

The Ngāti Tūwharetoa Fisheries Charitable Trust has chosen to utilise the current education grants program provided by the Tūwharetoa Maori Trust Board and Ngāti Tūwharetoa (Bay of Plenty) Settlement Trust to support Ngāti Tūwharetoa in their education endeavours.

Education grant forms can be provided by contacting the Tūwharetoa Maori Trust Board and Ngāti Tūwharetoa (Bay of Plenty) Settlement Trust directly.

Nga Kuia me nga Kaumatua

The Ngāti Tūwharetoa Fisheries Charitable Trust has chosen to utilise the current kaumatua grants program provided by the Tūwharetoa Maori Trust Board and Ngāti Tūwharetoa (Bay of Plenty) Settlement Trust to support our Ngāti Tūwharetoa kaumatua and kuia.

Nga Kanohi Marae o Ngati Tuwharetoa

The Ngāti Tūwharetoa Fisheries Charitable Trust provides kaimoana for Ngāti Tūwharetoa tangihanga held on Ngāti Tūwharetoa Marae. The Trust continues to do this to support the haukainga at this important time.

Te Whare Ariki o Tuwharetoa

The Ngāti Tūwharetoa Fisheries Charitable Trust continues to support Sir Tumu Te Heuheu on an annual basis which reflects the value that the Paramouncy provides to the Ngāti Tūwharetoa Fisheries Charitable Trust, Ngāti Tūwharetoa and the Motu.
